My Favorite Bread Recipe

Good morning!
Last time I posted I talked about making bread so this morning I decided I'd share that recipe. Actually I'll be sharing two recipes; the original, bake-in-the-oven recipe and the modified throw-in-the-breadmachine recipe!

The Original.
Great as buns or loaves

One Hour Yeast Rolls (or Bread)
1 cup warm water
1/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup oil
2 T yeast
1tsp salt
1 egg, beaten
3 1/3 cup flour

Mix the first four ingredients and let proof (let the yeast bubble. I always loved this part as a kid)
Stir in the salt and the egg.
Add flour and let rise for 10 minutes.
Form rolls (or loaves) let rise for 20 minutes.
Place on/in greased and floured pans.
Bake @375 for 10 minutes (Rolls)
                          20 minutes (bread)


The modified throw-it-in-the-machine-and-walk-away version

1 cup water
1/4 cup butter (half a stick)
1 egg
3 cups flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp salt
2 tsp yeast.

In a microwavable container cut the butter into the water. Microwave for one minute. Beat in the egg and pour the mixture into the machine's pan. Add the rest of the ingredients in order. Set and walk away!
On my machine I set it on White, Light and Large and it comes out perfect :)
